felt the same way about baby reindeer. i called it masturbatory, and wished he’d gone to therapy instead of writing a show. i thought it started off strong but the end moment when he types out the first sentence of the show…blegh.
What's that saying? The difference between the almost right word and the right word is the difference between a lightning bug and lightning? Masturbatory is the perfect way to describe the show! If I think about the show too much, I'll get more annoyed that I watched the whole thing when I could've been doing laundry or watching something way better.
Thank you for your kind words! I am feeling much better now and fingers crossed that my PT will prevent it from returning!
Girl, I am SO sorry you herniated a disc. I also tweaked my back out twice in 2 years during the pandemic and as someone who doesn't really buckle under pain it completely knocked me out for a week each time. Back issues are no joke!! Have you heard of the nap ministry with Trisha Hersey? (There's a great interview with her on NPR). I like putting on some Maggie Rogers for a designated chill session.
OMG, TWICE IN 2 YEARS? I am so so so sorry. Wishing you many pain-free days now and beyond. I have not heard about the nap ministry! Will look into it. I started playing Maggie Rogers after your recommendation because I totally slept on the fact that she released a new album. She is the perfect artist to tune into while tuning out!
SO many good things this week in your newsletter, Grace!
1. Setting a rest timer. (doing that next week)
2. S hooks are magic
3. I need a pebble ice maker and my husband has blocked my motion every time. The guy does not get why we need to clutter the countertops for "something that you get from the refrigerator" He is not a Diet Coke drinker so he doesn't "get it" - I might get rebellious and buy it at that price point.
Thank you so much S! I'm have a strong feeling that your husband will have a hard time resisting the pleasures of nugget ice one he has the machine at home. Trying to resist consumerism, but sometimes we deserve things that make us happy :) Keep me posted on your rest journey, I love hearing how people decompress!
